This was a small entrance lobby at the back of the house leading to the garden. The doorway and adjoining windows had been seriously damaged some years before. The bottom layer of glass was replaced in the door and the window panel to give them strength and stability.
As there was no money in the budget for re-plastering the whole room, the remit was to make the room a bright and airy space by bringing the calm serenity of the garden into the house. The walls were sympathetically cladded with wood panelling and painted to match the colour theme of the house.
The flooring was recycled from another room and laid to match the flooring in the front hallway giving a feeling of space and continuity. The finishing touches of creating a quadrant of trailing plants hanging from the ceiling to bring the outdoors indoors.
